"Good morning little Lia-"

"Shut the fuck up and I'll be happy"

"Oh fucking hell. What the hell did I do?"

"You spoke" I told Pansy as she sat down next to me and I rubbed my face

"Ouch"

"I didn't even-"

"How'd the test go?"

"Fine"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes-"

"You're lying-"

"No"

"No?"

"No, I'm being honest" I said to her quietly, lying through my teeth as I fiddled with the hair bobbles on my wrist, the whole of my body covered in open cuts as I tried to stop myself from moving too much as Daphne sat down opposite us

"That's great then! At least it's better than the last one"

"What's what now?"

"Nothing. It's fine" I told Daphne as I rubbed at my eyes and held my head in my hands

"Haven't you got another test today?"

"Wow Greengrass, I didn't really want a fucking reminder but thanks you know" I snapped as I lifted my head to look at her as she stared at me

"You need to smile more-"

"How can I smile when life is meaningless and living happily will never change that?" I asked as I stared at her, a smile on her face as she shrugged with an amused look

"Great, now... can you help me with the potions assignment Snape gave us last week?"

"It's for today!"

"I know. Can I copy your work?"

"No-"

"Why not?!"

"Because it's my work and you've had a whole week to do it! Why didn't you do it sooner?"

"I've had a lot to do-"

"You've had a lot to do?!" I asked ludicrously, staring at her with growing anger as the bags under my eyes continued to grow darker every day and I stood up, snatching my bag up as I walked off, muttering under my breath as I left the hall

"Oh Lia?"

"What?" I asked quietly, turning around annoyed with my teeth gritted as I stared at Cedric who was walking over to me as he raised his eyebrows at me

"What was that all about?"

"Nothing-"

"Who's said something-?"

"Daphne! She had the audacity to say to me that she's had a lot to do!" I told him annoyed as I raised my arms and sighed before I hugged him tightly

"So you're finally admitting it?"

"Yes! Okay? Is that what you've been so desperately wanting me to tell you?"

"Yes actually" he mumbled quietly as I rested my head against him with a quiet sigh. Not knowing how long had passed I felt a tap to my shoulder I opened my eyes and I looked to him, a grin growing on his face while he raised his eyebrows at me

"You fell asleep"

"No I didn't"

"How long do you usually sit in the common room for?"

"A few hours"

"And how long is a few hours?"

"Usually until about three... or four..."

"Amelia-"

"Don't tell me to take a break because I have work to do and not enough time to do it"

"So you think the reasonable thing to do is to skip meals?"

"Yeah"

"Amelia, you can't be doing that-"

"There's usually a couple of sandwiches left on a plate whenever I'm working late"

"Well at least you eat them-"

"I don't-"

"What? Why?"

"I don't know who left them there. They could be poisoned" I shrugged as I stepped back, making sure I had everything I needed in my bag as I looked at him, watching him sigh as he rubbed at his face

"What do you have next?"

"Lupin"

"You aren't coming to-?"

"No not today. See you later, Cedric"
