Lying on the bed curled up I stared at the floor and empty chair blankly, my eyes burning from exhaustion as footsteps paced the length of the hospital wing with the doors continually opening and closing. Grabbing my pillow I brought it to my chest and cuddled it, hiding my face as I was met with a sigh

"Hey birdy" lifting my head I looked at the body occupying the chair, a polished pair of shoes gracing the floor while I glanced up, Nathan sitting there and offering a small smile as he leant his arm on the table beside him

"How've you been?" Looking away again I shrugged slightly, a numb feeling in my joints and muscles as he stood up and pulled the chair over next to the bed and carefully peeled the pillow away from my face, brushing his thumb against my nose with a smile

"Are you hiding from me?"

"The audacity... I come and visit and you hide? You break my heart, Lia"

"No, no I'm joking, I know you wouldn't. Do you want to sit up?" He asked quietly as I looked at him and paused before nodding as he stood up and I moved the pillow away as I started pushing myself up and he helped sit me upright, the pain lifting from my lower back as he took a small space on the bed next to me while resting his feet on the chair he was previously on

"I was asked to give you these" reaching into his pocket he pulled out a handful of things as he sat them down on my lap before bringing his bag up beside him on the bed

"The jellybeans are from Ali, the book from Adam.... Alex... I don't know why he gave you this but he tried to crochet a golden snitch for you- even though it looks like a large and misshaped walnut" he told me quietly as I felt a smile creeping onto my face, a grin growing on his when he caught sight of it

"Terri was on holiday not too long ago and she brought you back some little braided bracelets, and Jayden got you a little diary and the letter is from Draco" he added on, throwing me an amused look and raising his eyebrows at me as I bit back my smile before he grabbed one last thing from his bag

"Pansy asked me to give you this" passing me a photo frame I turned it over gently, a picture of the four of us outside the doors of the hall on the night of the Yule ball as a smile got the better of me and I gently ran my thumb across the glass

"Draco and Pansy are out there just now if you have anything you want me to give them?" He offered as I reached over to the desk, passing him a little stack of letters as he excused himself with an amused look, listening as the door opened and he greeted them before it swung shut. Pulling the bracelets on I smiled down at them fondly, lifting my head a couple of moments later when I heard the door open again and Nathan's laugh met my ears as he appeared at my side a moment later with a grin

"Blaise fell up the stairs"

Up?!

"Up"

Stupid idiot

Watching him grab the board from me laughing he ran as I sat up straight, mortified, as the hospital wing doors swung open, loud laughter echoing from the corridor as he appeared again a moment later laughing

"He called you a little cunt" he told me laughing as I sat there with an amused smile before he passed me the board back, sitting up beside me with his arm around my shoulders as I rested against him

"I love your friend group, I honestly do. They're so much better than anybody Holly or Oscar hang around with"

Really?

"Oh without a doubt. Obviously apart from Cedric... and the twins. I feel like they're a bit more genuine yknow"

Is this you getting a soft spot for my mates?

"No, I have a soft spot for you... and maybe one of them"

Oh really now?

"Really"

I'll let them know you said that

"No, please don't. I'm too awkward for them to ask me about it in person" he admitted laughing as I gave him an amused look, shaking my head at him with a grin

So are you going to tell me?

"Absolutley not-"

"Amelia, the healers are here" lifting my head I nodded as Nathan sat up confused, looking at me after she'd left, his grin having dropped

"Healers?"

They're here quite frequently

"Are you okay?"

They just do little check ups

Showing him the board he looked at me with a worried look as the two healers came around the curtain, pausing when they saw Nathan sitting on the bed

"I'm sorry, and you are?"

"I'm Nathan Dalmer, I just came by to visit Amelia"

"Well I'm afraid we're going to have to ask you to step outside for the moment, Mr Dalmer" one told him as he threw a look to me while they sat down a case onto the table beside me and started opening it up and pulling things out, one drawing their wand to the side and holding it to the side of my head as I watched Nathan reach for his own as I grabbed at his wrist, shaking my head at him

They need to take the charm off. That's why you need to step outside

"Do you not want me to stay in?"

Watching him reluctantly nod he stood up, slipping behind the curtain and out of sight as my skin started to sting
