"At least you got some sleep"

"How long?"

"Around eleven hours or so"

"Ah crap"

"It's a good thing"

"It's not: I've slept too long" I mumbled to Cedric as I sat up, looking at him as he turned in his chair, doing his best to smile but only giving a weak one as he lifted up a newspaper and waved it slightly

"I seen what happened"

"You weren't there?"

"No, we apparated out right after the match ended. Are you alright?"

"Yeah. I'm fine"

"You're horrible at lying"

"I'm not"

"No, I know.... what are you not telling me?"

"Had a little run in with a death eater" I murmured after a pause as he let go of his quill, staring at me while I reached into my bag and pulled out the wand as I passed him it

"I pushed Holly out of the way of the killing curse and it caught my jumper.... she never even asked if I was okay"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"It's not exactly a conversation starter is it Cedric?" I asked quietly as he turned the wand over in his hands

"What're you going to do with it?"

"Frame it"

"Amelia-"

"I'm being serious"

"You probably are, that's the thing" he mumbled as I let out a laugh while he looked up briefly

"You're not keeping it"

"Yes I am"

"No you're not Amelia"

"Yes I am-"

"No-"

"Yoink" grabbing it from him I flicked my own wand as I made it disappear, a grin on my face while he stared at me blankly before sighing slightly

"I can't tell if you're amused or annoyed...."

"Both"

"Oh.... so I done a good job-?"

"The nerve you have to ask that" he sighed as I started laughing, watching him turn away as he tried his best to stop a smile from appearing on his face, eventually giving up as he started laughing and I leant against the wall with a smug grin

"You need to stop talking"

"Why? You love hearing my voice"

"Do I?"

"Of course you do. Why would you question that?"

"Why wouldn't I? You say some worrying things"

"All with good intentions-"

"How can you say with good intentions?! I specifically remember you telling your friends that you'd help them hide the body of a person they murdered!"

"Well.... that was with good intentions. I can't exactly let my friends get imprisoned for murder, can I?" I asked as he stopped moving, glancing at me out of the corner of his eye as my grin stayed on my face

"Now you can't say that I didn't say that without good intentions-"

"Stop you're yabbering and read-"

"Read what?"

"These. They came earlier on" he said while picking up a few letters and turning, holding them out to me as I took them confused, ruffling through them

"That's Nathan's writing.... Adam's.... Pansy's..... Blaise's.... and.... I can't make that out" I mumbled slowly as I turned the envelope around in different ways, squinting as I tried to read the scrawled writing

"If you don't know who it's from then don't open it-"

"You take the fun away from life Cedric"

"I am the fun in your life"

"So.... if you take the fun out of my life.... but you are the fun in my life... does that mean you're leaving?"

"Never. You're stuck with me"

"Thanks Cedric. That sounded more like a threat but, you know... I appreciate it"
