Silently Screaming For Help

|Chapter 164 : Cedric's Interrogation|

Laying down with a book levitating above me I lazily flicked my wand as it swept through the pages until it finally landed on the one I needed as I thoroughly read through the instructions before raising my wand and holding it against the centre of my forehead and closing my eyes, repeating the incantation continually in my head until I felt a prickly feeling start to spread through my skin. It eventually stopping, I opened my eyes and looked down at my hands and arms, all the bruises and cuts and scars seemingly disappeared as a smile started to tickle at my face, knowing the illusion charm would wear off in a couple of hours as I flicked my wand again and the book floated down onto the pile beside my bed.

Turning my head to the curtain awhile later I watched as it moved to the side and Cedric stepped in and he done a double take when he saw me as he stared at me in confusion

"Lia? What've you done?"

I found a charm

"But why are you using a charm? Lia, nobody else is going to see you and you don't have to hide or anything"

I want people to be able to maintain eye contact. And to not look at me with such pity and sympathy

Showing him the board I watched as he instantly darted his eyes over to look at mine, not breaking the stare as he gave me a small sigh and soft smile before sitting down at the foot of the bed

Have you worked the egg out yet? You only have one more week

Showing him the board he smiled before shaking his head

"Not yet- it deafens me every time I open it" he laughed as I scribbled on the board again

Can I?

A smile crossing his face he nodded as a grin spread across my face and he took the egg from out of his bag and handed me it

"I figured you would ask sooner or later- you're probably going to have some idea that I haven't" he said laughing as I grazed my fingers over the carvings as I flicked my wand and it levitated above me before I slowly reached my hand up and held the clasp as he instantly took it from me

"No! Don't do that- not in here" he said before laughing as I stuck my tongue out at him and he rolled his eyes at me

"You can be such a child at times" he said smiling as he passed me the egg back and I looked at the clasp intently before looking back at the pictures engraved on the sides

What have you tried so far?

"I've opened it normally- useless, I've tried a couple of spells- silencing ones, transfiguration ones, I've tried turning it upside down-" he listed but stopped as I gave him a look with a growing smile

"Oh shut up- none have worked anyway, why, have you thought of something?" He asked as I held a finger up and grabbed the egg and slowly sat it on my chest, wincing slightly at the weight of it

"Are you alright?" He asked quickly as he leant over the bed and looked at me as I nodded and I grabbed my wand and flicked it, a book slowly rising from the floor and floating above my head as he stared at me as the pages started to flick through themselves before I finally stopped the book and sat the egg up to look at it, comparing it between the pages

"Amelia?" He asked as glanced at him and he held up a letter as I peered at him curiously

"It's from Malfoy. He was standing outside when I came in and asked me to give it to you" he explained, a smile automatically growing on my face as I tried to hide the look of joy growing as he passed me it over and I slipped it into the pocket of my hoodie, feeling his eyes on me as I looked back to him before flicking my wand as the book floated back down to the stack, the smile still growing on my face as he stared at me amused

Shut up. Before you even think about saying anything

"Who said I was going to say anything?" He asked laughing as I raised my eyebrows at him while I looked down and cleaned the board

"You like him, don't you?" He asked quietly as my head whipped up as my cheeks flushed as I shook my head while his grin grew

"Yes you do"

Shut up

"Oh my god you do! That's so cute, my little Amelia is growing up!"

Shut up Cedric- and I am not little

"Not anymore...so, do you?" He asked smirking as I flicked my wand, the whiteboard flying at him as it hit his head causing him to rub at it

"I deserved that, but-" he started to ask again as I gave him another whack

"Okay! Crikey woman I'll stop!" He said loudly laughing as I shook my head at him

"So what have you figured out?" He asked glancing at the egg as a smirk grew on my face and I cleaned the board

Water

"What?"

Er

I wrote, finishing his word as he rolled his eyes

Think about it- the egg is illustrated with depictions of sirens, mermaids, seaweed and all sorts of water dwelling creatures... so just try putting the egg under water and opening it, if it doesn't work then I'll take the blame for your hearing loss

I explained smiling as his eyes widened and he tackled me into a gentle hug before picking the egg up and pointing to the door

"Can I?!"

I'm not stopping you

I wrote with a grin as he jumped off the bed laughing ecstatically and gave a gentle kiss to my forehead before sprinting out the hospital wing
