"Amelia, I have news" watching Madame Pomfrey sit down at the end of my bed later that week she gave me a smile while I closed my book and she drew her wand, waving it as I glanced down at my body, the remaining bruises and healing cuts visible as I looked back to her

"I've been speaking to the healers and I've been updating them from where they are at St Mungo's. They say that you'll be able to return to your classes and normal school days from Monday onwards" she explained to me, a smile constant on her face as I felt my grin grow, my mood lifting as I looked at her hopefully

Really?

"Really. You'll be free to return to your dormitory on Friday" she told me as I clapped my hand over my mouth, my grin wide on my face as I felt tears brim my eyes, pure joy taking over me as I started laughing happily, the burning feeling in my throat slowly starting to fade as she patted my knee reassuringly before leaving when the hospital wing doors opened and I slipped off the bed as the curtain was whipped back, Cedric standing with a wide grin as we stared at each other

"I have news!"

So do I!

"You go first!"

No! You!

"Okay! Right well I found out that my dad gets to come to the third and final task so you can see him then, and I asked Cho to officially be my girlfriend and she said yes! And my parents are going to buy me a new broomstick if I win this competition!" He told me happily, jumping with joy as I grabbed his hands ecstatically, shaking them with a grin as he laughed loudly

"So what's your news?"

I get to leave on Friday!

"What?! Really?!" He asked loudly, almost shouting as I nodded and he let out a cry of joy, sweeping me into a hug as I held him tightly, the two of us swaying before he stepped back with a grin and I held my finger up before reaching across the bed and to the desk, grabbing the letters before passing them to him

Can you do me a favour and pass these to someone if anybody is outside the wing? And if they are, please don't tell them about me getting out: I want to keep it a surprise

Watching him nod he vanished away as Madame Pomfrey came back over, a bag in hand as she held it out for me

"This has just been sent over for you from the healers. They've said to rub it on the scars and bruises every morning and night continuously and they will start to disappear" she explained to me as I took the bag, looking inside at the cream and the lotion as I looked back up to her

Really?

"Really, but you must remember to use it both day and night Amelia, that's crucial"

I will, I will

"Okay good, well, I'll leave you and Mr Diggory to it. I'll be in my office if you need me" she reminded me with a smile as I nodded grinning and her and Cedric swapped places as he pointed at me amused

"When you head back on Friday, don't let that blond one bother you too much"

The blond one?

"You know who I'm on about"

No I don't, there's lots of blond people

"When I say blond, I mean Draco Malfoy level of blond" he clarified as we sat down laughing and I looked at him with a grin while he waved himself off

"I can't even presume he'd be any bother to you, he seems somewhat genuine"

Is Cedric Diggory developing an appreciative opinion towards Draco?

"Don't let it get to your head, I'm still wary of him"

You don't need to be, if you did have any reason to be I'd soon correct you

"Oh you would, would you?"

"Right, we'll see how that goes, especially since I don't think you could ever mutter an ill word about that kid" he scoffed as I sat there smiling, feeling the heat rise to my face as he pointed at me with a laugh
