Knocking on Nathan's door gently I waited, the hallway dark and slightly cold as his faint response met my ears as I slipped in, closing the door behind me and I looked at him from where he sat up on his bed with sheets of parchment on his lap

Do you mind?

"No, not at all. Is everything okay?" He asked quietly while folding the duvet back and letting me sit underneath it beside him as I shrugged, leaning against him with a sigh

"I'm sorry about today"

No it's okay, please don't apologise

"I didn't even notice her leave the air"

It is what it is

"It was insensitive, that's what it was" he corrected me quietly, his arm wrapping around me while he flicked through some sheets

Should I have reacted? Would it have of been okay for me to overreact?

"Did it hurt you?"

Every word like that she has ever said to me has hurt me. Still does. But I think the way she spoke of you hurt more

"Nobody would have stopped you from reacting, nobody would have blamed you either. If it upset you then it upset you- nobody can and can't tell you what makes you feel a certain way Lia"

I'm sorry

"What're you apologising for?"

Bothering you with this in the middle of the night as per usual

"Amelia, you're human. And you're letting your feelings out-you're not bothering me, if anything I'm glad" he reassured me quietly, rubbing at my arm as I breathed quietly and we fell silent, the sense of gratitude and appreciation towards Nathan growing continually as I gave myself a small smile while glancing at the paper he held

You should be asleep, what are you doing?

"There's been a few changes made to professional quidditch teams and I just need to read through all the new terms that they've provided us with"

How long have you been reading for?

"Over an hour already"

Nathan, you need to give yourself a break and go to bed

"I can't sleep"

Is something on your mind?

"Honestly?"

Be brutally honest

"I don't think I've ever been so angry at someone before in my life as I was today with Nadia" he admitted quietly, staring across the room as he let out a quiet sigh before tilting his head back slightly

"I truly don't think I've ever felt that much rage before. She just won't listen to anybody"

She thinks for herself, that's why

"She's so insensitive"

Did she say anything negative about you?

"We were just having a go at each other, nothing out of the ordinary"

It's still not fair for you

"....she didn't even know you weren't in the hospital wing"

What do you mean?"

"I mean it's mid April, you've been here for about over two weeks now, and she never realised that you'd left the hospital wing? Did she not even come and bother to pay you a visit?"

Honestly, since I got in the wing I don't think she's been there with me for over ten minutes

"Really?"

Yep, she's only came to see me twice. The first time was when I'd ironically woken up

"...I think that's annoying me more now than anything. I don't understand how she can act so careless and negligent"

Sitting up I looked around confused, kicking Nathan's covers off me before making his bed as I grabbed my wand, closing his door behind me before heading downstairs. Wandering into the kitchen he stood leaning against the counter with his back to me, his shirt hanging over his shoulder as I stood next to him, his arm wrapping around me as he concentrated on the parchment he was reading, turning to me a minute later

"Sorry Lia, I wasn't ignoring you"

No you're fine. I'm sorry for falling asleep last night, it wasn't my intention to steal your bed like that

"Don't be silly, you're fine. Have you had your potion today?"

There isn't any left

"None at all?"

Nope, all finished

"I'll need to owl Poppy and see if I can get any more for you"

It's a good thing though, it means I'm getting better

"It definitely does" he agreed, turning his head with a grin as he moved his hand to my hair and messed it up as I swatted his hand away amused before turning and giving him a hug as we stayed quiet for awhile

"I've been hearing more and more from Draco"

Oh?

"He's been asking me how you are.... He says you aren't letting onto much in the letters you send"

Ah

"So what's up with that? Hm?"

I just don't want him worrying

"Well he is"

Well tell him to stop

"I can't because I've been telling him how you've been"

Nathan!

"He's been going mental Amelia... he's been skipping classes too, just to sit outside the hospital wing waiting for you"

Please kick sense into him

"He won't take it from anyone other than you"
