"Are you okay?"

"Tense" I told Blaise quietly, sitting on my bed in the empty dorm as he stood opposite me, leaning against my wardrobe

"How so?"

"Because I haven't spoken to any of them in God knows how long and now I have to basically reintroduce myself to them"

"That's understandable, if it makes you feel better I'm bringing Daphne in first to ease you into it- seeing as she's the calmest out of them all"

"Yeah but I think that's going to break my heart the most"

"In what way?"

"She has the purest soul, Blaise, I feel awful about this, I don't know how she is going to react and my heart can't take it. I mean I know Pansy might like make a joke to try and lighten the mood, whenever I see Millicent she'll probably just ask if I'm okay and remind me that she's there if I need to talk to her about anything but I'm so uncertain with Daphne- she's unpredictable in the nicest way"

"Yes....you have a point but at least you know she won't flip out and throw anything at you"

"I-Blaise, that's not comforting me" I told him, giving him a look, as an amused smile started to tug at his face and a soft knock sounded at the door, it slowly opening as a familiar pair of eyes and blonde hair appeared around the door, my hands growing clammy as Daphne offered a soft smile before closing the door quietly behind her

"Hey Lia"

"Hi Daphne"

"So are you looking forward to Christmas then?"

"Daphne that's still over a month away-"

"It's called getting in the Christmas spirit, Blaise. Stop being such a grinch" she told him, giving him a disapproving look as she started rummaging around her trunk, giving me a look over her shoulder with a little smile

"Are you at least looking forward to the Yule Ball?"

"I forgot that was happening...."

"I hope you know that means we're going dress shopping"

"I-Daphne, no-"

"Oh absolutely-"

"I don't even know if I'll go to be honest-"

"What?!"

"I don't know if I want to...."

"Lia, you can't leave Draco hanging like that"

"She has a point, plus, we all know you're both dying to see each other all dressed up" Blaise added, trying to suppress the grin from spreading over his face as I raised an eyebrow at him

"I highly doubt Draco wants to see me all 'dressed up'"

"Amelia, he hasn't shut up about it. I can assure you he's buzzing"

"And plus you know you want an excuse to spend more time with him-"

"I-hey-"

"You can't deny it: we all know it-"

"Including Crabbe and Goyle, and we all know how slow they are with things"

"That's horrifying to think those two have clicked onto it, god knows who else knows-"

"That's very true-"

"Well we do know someone else who knows, someone else who's unhappy about you having been asked by Draco before he could get there himself" Blaise said as I turned my head at him and raised my eyebrow

"Really? Who?"

"Wait, make that two guys-"

"Stop pulling my leg-"

"We're genuinely not"

"Then who is it?"

"Oh we can't tell you that: we don't want to out the poor boys"

"Well then at least give me a clue for each of them"

"Hm I don't know...."

"Do you think we should Daphne?"

"I suppose it couldn't hurt.... Well in that case, one of them is someone who's here only for this year and you know them pretty well"

"And the other is actually on the quidditch team" Blaise told me as my jaw dropped in shock, soon morphing into a grin of amusement as I started laughing

"Shut up you're lying"

"We're not-"

"Okay see now you have to tell me!"
