Berlin was, behind Paris, one of my favorite places in the world. I was happy that we would stay more time in Germany, and maybe enjoy the city a bit. But now I had an appointment at the doctor, Ville wanted to go with me.

"Are you sure? It's so boring. Why don't you rest a little?" I asked him.

"I'm alright, and I want to go with you."

"Okay. Let me see the address and we're good to go."

Today my appointment was with an endocrinologist. He would probably ask a lot of exams for me, but the sooner I did, the better.

We called a cab. "Bachstraße 31, bitte." Ville looked at me startled. "Kulta. Do you speak German as well? Oh lord, everyday I find something new about you."

"Everyday?" I giggled. "And I speak just a few. I studied a bit back in the day, but then I changed for French."

"Why?"

"Because I hated the teacher."

"It was that bad? Because German seems a cool language. I've learned some words and phrases."

"It is, indeed. And I really love it. Maybe one day I'll catch up again. But the teacher made me hate it at the time. He was an asshole."

"Really? Too severe?"

"That wasn't the problem. He... He tried to harass me once."

"What? Oh fuck. Tell me you broke his bones." Ville looked really angry.

"I wish, but I was too young at the time and didn't know how to defend myself. I just cried and never came back. I don't know why I am telling this now. I never told this anyone actually, not even my parents. My mother criticized me at the time, she thought I simply gave up because it was hard."

"Your mother is becoming sort of an enemy for me."

"Well, she didn't know about that. I felt so ashamed I didn't tell anyone."

"But it wasn't your fault."

"I know that now. But like I said, I was young. I should have broke him, indeed."

"Were you dating the 'wants-to-know-if-you-are-engaged' at the time?"

I laughed. "Yes. I didn't told him either."

"That's bad. Probably you didn't confide in him."

"Yeah. Well, that's behind me." Ville hugged me and I smiled at him. "I feel I can tell you anything. And that's new to me."I told him.

"That's good to know, but it shouldn't be like that. I understand you, though. I know I can be myself with you, completely naked. In every sense." He rested his head on mine, giving me that boyish smile I loved. "Oh. I know where we are." He looked outside.

"We're near the Tiergarten. Oh, if we have time we can walk there."

"Sure. Let's hope it doesn't rain again."

We arrived at the doctor's office, I spoke some more German but it wouldn't last the appointment. Ville made a face. "What is it, Ville?"

"Oh, it's a 'my girlfriend is so fucking intelligent' expression." He giggled.

"Ville, you're so silly sometimes, you know that, right?" I giggled with him. I was relieved to see my old Ville again, not that empty stare.

The doctor found a bit funny Ville entering with me. At first, he thought he would translate from German and we laughed about it. "He just wants to be here, if that's okay."
