"How's Kara holding up ?" You ask putting your mask on.
Alex looks up at you and says "Not too good go give your girlfriend a hand".
"On it" you say shooting a grapple hook arrow and jumping onto the next buildings roof.
"You have failed this city" you say to Reign causing Kara to look up.
"Y/S/N don't" Kara says but Reign kicks her back down.
"This isn't Star City" Reign informs you.
"Well no shit I had no idea I was in National City" you say sarcastically.
"Your a bit too sarcastic for my liking" Reign says as you cut her off.
"What you gonna do to me ?" You ask with a smirk.
"Don't pick a fight you can't win" Reign responds.
"Just let me check on Supergirl and then I'm all yours" you tell her putting your hands up.
You bend down next of Kara and check her over.
"What the hell is your plan she can kill you ?" Kara scolds you.
"I don't need to beat her, I just need to give Alex time even if that involves getting my ass kicked" you respond.
"Times up" Reign says as you move away from Kara.
"Let's dance ice queen" you say launching an arrow at her.
She punches at you but you duck under it and push her away.
Whilst she tries to recompose herself you hit her with an arrow in the shoulder.
Reign pulled the arrow out and punched you but this time she didn't miss, you went flying into a wall.
"Fight back" Reign yells as you struggle to get up from the impact.
"Stand down Reign it's over" Alex calls out.
Reign forces you up to your bodies disagreement.
She puts her hand against your back but she's holding something.
You look down and realized she took your knife from your belt and had it pressed against your back.
If she pushed it in deep enough she could kill you.
You shake your head in Alex's direction and nod lightly to your back.
"What are we gonna do ?" Alex mouthed.
"On my count shoot I'll get out of the way" you mouth back.
She nods as you mouth "One, Two".
Reign dug the knife into your back, just enough to draw blood.
You couldn't defend yourself unless you got away from her.
"Three" you mouthed to the Danvers girl.
Kara looked up and screamed as the bullet left Alex's gun.
You pushed Reign back slightly and kicked her shin.
The bullet hit Reign in the heart as agent's rush to contain her.
Alex checked that you were okay quickly but before you could tell her you were fine disaster struck.
Reign had broke free and launched the knife at you.
You turned around so your side was facing the incoming weapon.
Neither Alex or the injured Kara had seen the foreign object coming.
The knife penetrated your side and caused blood to ooze from your lips and you to fall on your knees.
Kara screamed but that's all you heard before you blacked out.
2 hours later ...
Kara POV
"What if she dies Alex, and it's all my fault ?" Kara grumbled.
Her healing had taken over and she was fully recovered.
"She won't Kara she's going to come out of theatre just fine" Maggie consoles both Alex and Kara.
No more what ifs could leave the sisters mouths as the surgeon walked out.
"Is she okay ?" Kara asked.
"She lost a lot of blood but we stopped the bleeding and gave her a blood transfusion" he explained.
"Can we see her ?" Maggie asked.
"Are you her family ?" The surgeon asked.
"Her mother committed suicide and her father died of an overdose. She only had me I'm her sister" Maggie explains to the man.
"Is your sister's name Y/N Sawyer" He asks Maggie is a little annoyed but she knows it's procedure.
She shows him her badge and he moves so they can see you.
Kara takes your hand when she sits beside you.
You open your eyes but they struggle to adjust to the lighting.
"Thank god your okay" Maggie said kissing your cheek.
Alex had left to help with Reigns sentencing.
"You really scared me babe" Kara says as you smile weakly.
"Mags can you give us a bit of time alone" you ask her.
She nods, getting up to leave and exiting the room.
"Kara are you okay ?" You ask the kryptonian.
"What do you mean ? I'm not the one lying in a hospital bed" Kara responded.
"I know you Danvers you probably think what happened to me is your fault. It wasn't ,I promise you that it was my own fault. I knew that fighting Reign was risky. But my thoughts were clouded all I wanted to do was save you" you tell her squeezing her hand.
"I needed to hear that" Kara says.
After, a few seconds of silence you cough to retain Kara's wondering gaze. She had the attention span of a toddler sometimes.
"I love you, you don't have to say it back" you say making Kara's eyes widen in shock.
"I love you too" she says after a moment of awkward silence.
She softly latches her lips on to your but you groan from the pain.
"If I'm hurting you I can stop" Kara said cupping your face in her hand.
"Don't stop" you tell her connecting your lips once more.
