ill
/ɪl/
adjective
suffering from an illness or disease or feeling unwell

Y/N - your name

I groan as my sinuses ache along with my head. "Y/N, just go to your hotel room for Christ's sake." My coworker, Jeffry, says as I shake my head. "No, I gotta work today." I say as I look back at the data of the car. "If I have to carry you back to your hotel room, I will." He says but I just shake my head, "I'm really okay. It's just a blocked nose." I say just before I have another coughing fit. "Yeah, sure, just a blocked nose." He says as he gets back to his work.

I roll my eyes before getting back to my work. Working for Williams is actually pretty easy plainly because of who works around me. My boyfriend, George, also makes it much easier but this fever wasn't. I tried hiding it, hating leaving the crew to do my work when we are already understaffed due to a bug that has been going around. It looks like I've also caught it, which is a problem as I was staying in the same room as George.

I got medication, but I just didn't wanna stop working and I didn't want to admit it as I didn't want George to not race tomorrow. I groan again as my nose aches again so I grab my nasal spray and squirt some up my nose. "Wow, babe, you look so lively." George says as he presses a kiss to my cheek. "Don't kiss me. I think I'm ill." I say as he chuckles, "Yeah I know, but I love you." He says as Jeffery gags. "Please take your lovey dovey shit elsewhere." He says as myself and George laugh.

"Come, lets go to my drivers room." George says as I look over at Jeffery. "I got your work covered, don't worry. But please just go back to the hotel room!" He exclaims as I chuckle. "I'll think about it." I say as I get up and follow George to his drivers room. "Why didn't you tell me you were this sick? I knew you were sick because you're coughing at night and all, but I didn't know you were this bad." He says as I take a seat on his couch.

"I didn't wanna stress you or the team out." I admit as he sighs and takes a seat next to me. "I'm your boyfriend. Let me take care of you." He says as he caresses my thigh. I nod my head, unable to form words as my head starts to ache. "Okay, first things first, go to the hotel room. 1, I want you getting better and 2, I don't want you getting everyone else sick. I know you are wearing your mask but lets rather be safe than sorry." He says as I nod, "I guess you're right." I say as I stand up.

"Babe, I'm George Russell, of course I'm right." He says making me chuckle softly. "I'll see you later, hun." He says as I nod and walk out. I quickly walk to the boss and tell him everything. "Go rest. I'm sure you'll be good tomorrow since you've been taking medication." He says as I nod. "Thanks boss. See you tomorrow for the race." I say waving him goodbye.

I take the car back to the hotel knowing George would catch a ride with Nicholas. The drive was torture, my headache only getting worse. Finally, I arrive back at the hotel and get straight into bed. I change first into one of George's hoodies and slip a pair of shorts which is hidden under George's hoodie as it is massive for me. I take some more medication before turning the TV on to watch qualifying. Because I'm so drugged up, unfortunately I fall asleep before I could see what would happen in qualifying.

I'm woken up by the hotel door opening. "Oh my baby. Are you feeling better?" George asks after dropping his bags down. "Yeah, much better actually." I groan out as he chuckles, "You don't sound better. You do look better though, I won't lie." He says as he takes a seat next to me. "I'm sorry baby. I didn't watch the qualifying. How did it go?" I ask as I look over at him. He wraps his arm around me and presses a kiss to my forehead.

"No baby, don't apologize. I know you're not feeling that great. But it wasn't too great, P17." He says as I sigh, "I'm sorry baby, but watch, tomorrow's gonna be the day you get your first point." I says he chuckles. "This must be the drugs talking." He jokes as I laugh. "I got some McDonald's." George says as he points at the bags on the floor. "Mm, you know me so well." I say as he nods his head.

"I got some ice cream too. I can only assume that your throats is sore." He says as I smile. "You should quit racing and become a mind reader." I say as he laughs loudly whilst grabbing the bag filled with McDonald's. "How did everyone cope at the garage?" I ask in the middle of our meal. "Great actually. They obviously didn't have that much as you overwork." George says before shoving his burger in his mouth. "True, true.' I say as I continue with my food.

After some much needed ice cream, a shower and an episode of Friends, I was exhausted. "Ready for bed, princess?" George asks as he exits the shower. He is wearing only a pair of underpants. "Yes." I say tiredly. "Taken your medication?" He asks as I nod. "Even your cough syrup?" He asks as I nod, "It was so shit." I say as he chuckles. He jumps into bed but I stop him, "I don't want you getting ill." I say but he just scoffs, "I'm sure I'll be fine. Plus, I don't react that badly to being ill." He says as I nod.

"Fine, but if you get ill you tell the team." I say as he nods with a big smile. "I'm glad you feeling better." He says as I cuddle into him. "Me too. I'm pretty sure I'll be back in the garage tomorrow." I say as he nods his head, "Hopefully. You're clearly my good luck." He says as I chuckle. "Get some rest, hun. I love you." George says as I look up at him. "I love you too. Lets get some points tomorrow." I say as he nods. And he did grab some points, two points to be exact! Despite how sick I still was the next days George hugged and kissed me like he was never gonna see me again. Guess I am his good luck charm.
