chapter 19: Say no more

“I have no clue at all.” Guan Tong was confused, “did you say that the Longevity Slab sealed your spiritual power? Does it mean that you actually have spiritual power?”

“Can you unseal it?” asked she.

Wu Ruo nodded, “yes. As long as I break the Longevity Slab. I actually have unsealed my spiritual land.”

“Does it mean you can cultivate now?” Guan Tong sobbed, holding his hands excitedly, “great! Great! You can finally cultivate as your brothers do.”

 She had been very sad since her youngest son was found to have no spiritual power. When more and more people laughed at her son as he grew fatter, she blamed herself for not giving him a good body.

Even now she often dreamed of her little boy crying and asking her why he hadn’t had spiritual power. Every time she woke up from those dreams, her heart hurt.

Wu Ruo of course knew that his mother couldn’t sleep at night just because of him. He wiped her tears, “yes. I can cultivate as brothers. You don’t have to worry about my health anymore. And even better, I have seven secret skills in my brain.”

“Not even father?” asked Wu Ruo.

In last life, his mother told the exactly same thing to him with the same attitude. However, he told Ruan Zhizheng because he thought he was trustworthy/

“You mustn’t.” Guan Tong shook her head, “you mustn’t tell anyone. At least before you are strong enough. Have I made myself clear?”

“Yes, you have. Do you know about Shadow…” Wu Ruo nodded.

Guan Tong interrupted him right there, “I can’t tell you anything. Don’t ask me.”

“Not even a bit?” Wu Ruo didn’t give up.

It had never occurred to him that his mother would have anything to do with the Longevity Slab because he didn’t know his grandpa had the Longevity Slab. Therefore, he didn’t ask her anything. But now he knew who gave the Longevity Slab to him. Of course, he wanted to know everything and especially the Shadow Steal.

“When I left the clan, I swore an oath that I couldn’t reveal anything about the clan.” Said Guan Tong.

Wu Ruo sighed, “I get it.”

Guan Tong said heavily, holding his hand, “Ruo, you start so many years later than other kids. When people cast their skills, you have to pay extra attention to how they manage it, so you can make progress quickly. Get it?”

Wu Ruo kept her words in his mind. Because he sensed that his mother was trying to give him a hint.
