chapter 32: Trust Him for Once

After Wu Ruo returned to his room, he ordered Shiyi while he was washing his face, “send someone to follow Wu Anrun if he goes to Huai’an City. Remember to sabotage his relationship with Wu Chu.”

“Yes.” Shiyi answered.

Wu Ruo thought for a while and said, “someone from the Wu family has taken away some of my betrothal gifts behind me. Go find whom.”

“I am on it.” Shiyou said.

“Ok. I will give you the list tomorrow. And…” Wu Ruo’s eyes sparkled with coldness, “take the shopkeeper of the Musical Casino to me, secretly.”

The middle-level servants were not capable enough. Good thing was that Shiyou and the other high-level servants were. If they couldn’t do it, they would know they should ask Hei Gan for help.

“Yes.” Shijiu said.

Wu Ruo rubbed his forehead, “that’s it. You can leave.”

“Allow me to help you undress.” Shiyuan said.

Wu Ruo laid down on the bed after Shiyuan undressed him, staring at the red bedding curtain above.

In last life, Hei Xuanyi and Hei Gan left Gaoling half a month before the new year. And he spent the new year with his parents in Wu family. Hei Xuanyi came back after new year.

“I stay here for new year.” Hei Xuanyi frowned.

Wu Ruo looked at him in surprise, “you don’t want to spend the new year with your family?”

“No.” Hei Xuanyi glanced at his big belly, “after you get rid of those worms.”

Did he mean that he was going to take him back to his family? Why didn’t he in last life?

“Fine. Can you tell me where your family are? And who are they?”

“You will know when you see them.” Hei Xuanyi said no more. But he made himself clear. When Wu Ruo went to his home, he would know where his family were and who they were.

Wu Ruo rolled his eyes because of his explanation, ”your family didn’t come to our wedding. Is it because that they don’t want you to marry me?”

“No.”

“…” Wu Ruo pulled his long hair unhappily, “Hei Xuanyi, can you say a few more words?”

He wished he could know more about him in this life. But he barely talked, which was really nasty.

Hei Xuanyi said after he stared at him for a while, “a man to protect you and your family.”

Wu Ruo was surprised by Hei Xuanyi’s words for he said that because he knew what he had been doing lately. If he really meant to protect him and his family, his family wouldn’t have died in last life.

But if he had been nice to Hei Xuanyi and maintained a good relationship with him in the beginning in last life, they would have ended up differently.
