In sixth grade, I was in a class with different kids. I only knew one girl there. Me being really shy, I wouldn't talk to other kids. I only had one friend in my class, but we didn't mind.

Three weeks into school, friend 1 and I both had an A average in every single class. We both wore glasses, and were really quiet.

That's when it started.

One day, I just sat down on my seat, and someone called me a nerd. Since I was really shy, I didn't say anything. I didn't really mind at first, but then almost everyone would call me a nerd. I wasn't alone, though. They would also call friend 1 a nerd, too.

Two classmates of mine would talk to me every once in a while, and be very nice. We were all sitting down and the teacher wasn't in the classroom. Then, they both called friend 1 and I a nerd.

I snapped. (That never happens.) I said, "Why are you calling me a nerd? At least I'm not a freakin' moron!" Everyone stayed quiet, but I wasn't done yet.

"And another thing, at least I won't be working at McDonalds when I grow up!" Again, no one said a word. Friend 1 was smiling, and no one ever called me a nerd again. My classmates probably forgot about it later on because the two classmates I mentioned earlier became me and friend 1's friend.

Just proves to show that speaking up does help you in life. Please, if you don't agree with something or don't like what's happening, speak up.
